Superintendent – Technical service

Position Objective

The position’s goal is to provide leadership to the Technical services team to achieve the company’s goals, objectives and values of Teamwork, Respect and Innovation. To achieve this it is expected that the candidate is an experienced mining engineer of more than average technical proficiency and excellent teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop annual Long Term Plans and Oversee all technical requirements for mine planning, drill and blast design and mine strategy and ensure they are aligned with the long term plans
  • Ensure pit and dump designs are compliant to Vietnamese mining standards
  • Develop team to undertake short, medium and long term planning
  • Participate in analyzing different company assets and commodities
  • Undertake and close out all safety investigation with Department manager
  • Ensure production targets are on track and put in place improvement plans to achieve/ exceed target
  • Ensure manning are sufficient to deliver job priorities
  • Develop cost savings opportunities
  • Develop efficiency programs to improve business performance
  • Weekly discussion with M&G Manager on technical projects
  • Train and mentor subordinates
  • Produce Monthly technical report
  • Develop articles for publication
  • Develop monthly mining schedule compilation
  • Area inspection to be completed on a routine basis
  • Develop quaterly production forecast
  • Develop and assist with annual budget
  • Develop succesion plans for future development
  • Dewatering structure setup to meet dewatering needs
  • Participate in RAR meeting on behalf of the Manager

We are looking for qualified and driven individuals who have

Experience, skill, knowledge

  • University graduate of metalliferous mining; quarry manager ticket; Engineer degree
  • Broad knowledge mine planning for both open pit and underground
  • Have contract management experience
  • Strong D&B knowledge

Competency and other requirements

  • Strong use in Surpac, Minesched, Whittle and other mine planning software 
  • Strong English competency
  • Broad knowledge of earthworks particularly with open pit mining in a high production environment
