Senior Mechanical Engineer (Piping & Structure)

JOB SUMMARY

As a key member of the improvement projects team, your skills and experience will ensure that all work meets the standards in relation to safety, quality, schedules, and cost. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for providing engineering expertise in the design, fabrication, installation and assembly of the project. The primary challenge of this position is to ensure the project is completed in accordance with all technical requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet contractual arrangements and stakeholder’s requirement.

MAIN DUTIES

• Plan and coordinate Project initiatives, scope of work development.
• Provide engineering advice for site stakeholders, suppliers and contractors.
• Review tender pricing from suppliers/contractors and assess submissions for technical compliance.
• Overview the entire project (within disciplines) from an engineering viewpoint while maintaining an open approach to all queries.
• Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, Provide Leadership and advice where and when required.
• SMP scope of works development from conceptual design through to detail design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• QA/QC management of site construction (SMP).
• Develop, review and approve ITPs in associated with fabrication and installation (SMP)
• Commissioning activities of the plant where and when required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Extensive field experience in mining projects – both brownfield and greenfield projects.
• > 7+ years plus experiences in the mining or Oil & gas industry, University graduated engineering.
• Experience with TQ’S, filed inspections, technical procurement, redline mark ups, progress reporting.
• Experience with scope of work development – SMP construction contractor management and QA/QCs.
• Ability to work well within a team.
