Thai Nguyen Provincial Chairman Visits & Directs Coordinated Action to Advance Nui Phao’s Strategic Expansion Projects

On 13 July 2026, Nui Phao Mining welcomed a delegation from the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee led by Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan – Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee. This visit marked the second direct engagement with the company’s leadership within six months, underscoring the provincial leadership’s commitment and support for both Nui Phao’s operations and its significant projects. The continued collaboration highlights the importance of governmental partnership in fostering development within the mining sector.

The visit focused on reviewing and addressing key challenges affecting the implementation of Nui Phao’s projects, with the aim of accelerating the development of the Nui Phao Expansion and Nui Chiem projects. The delegation comprised leaders and representatives from relevant provincial departments and agencies, including the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Provincial Police, the Land Development Center, and the authorities of the three localities involved in the projects.

At the meeting, Mr. Phan Chien Thang, Deputy CEO, presented and discussed 6 key topics with the delegation. These included the mechanism for determining natural resource tax prices; land acquisition and site clearance; the progress of the Nui Phao Expansion and Nui Chiem projects; the tungsten recycling project; resource recovery optimization; and the application of advanced technologies to enhance the efficiency of mineral extraction and processing.

Chairman Vuong acknowledged and highly appreciated Nui Phao’s significant contributions to the province’s socio-economic development over the years. He also commended the Company’s plans to expand production and invest in high-tech projects in the coming years. The Chairman directed relevant departments, agencies and local authorities to work closely together, thoroughly review each issue, and proactively coordinate to resolve the remaining challenges and bottlenecks.

Concluding the meeting, the Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee issued specific directives to facilitate the timely implementation of the Company’s projects. Key directions included:

Natural resource tax framework: The Provincial People’s Committee and relevant departments were tasked with working closely with Nui Phao to finalize and issue detailed guidance as soon as possible, providing a clear legal framework for the Company to fulfill its natural resource tax obligations in accordance with regulations.

Compensation and site clearance: To support the Nui Phao Expansion Project, the relevant local authorities were instructed to urgently develop solutions and a clear implementation roadmap to resolve outstanding site clearance issues.

Resettlement: The authorities of Dai Phuc, An Khanh and Phu Lac communes were directed to review and maximize the use of available land for resettlement or, where necessary, arrange stable temporary accommodation for affected residents.

Previously, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan and the working delegation conducted an on-site inspection of the areas within the scope of the adjustment and expansion projects of Nui Phao Company.

In parallel with the decisive actions taken by the provincial authorities, the Chairman encouraged Nui Phao to proactively mobilize the necessary resources and work closely with local governments to ensure the timely delivery of its expansion projects. This will enable more efficient utilization of mineral resources, contribute to the socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen Province, and strengthen the competitiveness of Vietnam’s mining sector.
