Nui Phao Mining organizes training on living values and life skills for pupils

Nov 02, 2023

On October 28, Nui Phao Mining officially launched the Let’s PAL Companion Program in collaboration with Tea Talk Vietnam and the Center for Community Advice, Study and Development, starting with a training on living values and life skills for 60 pupils from Tan Linh Primary School in Tan Linh, Dai Tu. This is among many community support initiatives the company has taken on in 2023 to provide mental support for the local children.

The Let’s PAL Companion Program aims to prevent issues related to mental health for children and teenagers especially in the digital age such as anxiety, stress, depression, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, etc. The program includes a series of training sessions and focuses on equipping the pupils with living values and life skills, in combination with the surrounding ecosystem including their families, immediate caretakers, schools and society.

Through 5 to 6 sessions on living values and life skills, the program will equip the 60 pupils within the 9 to 13 age group (pupils of grades 4 and 5) from Tan Linh Primary School, with a view to enhancing their self-worth and self-confidence as well as preventing the pupils from common mental health issues.

At the opening ceremony, the pupils took part in meaningful activities such as collecting recyclable items. For every three plastic bottles or three cans collected, they earned one stamp. Each class would nominate one Environment Committee responsible for collecting and calculating stamps earned for classmates. The number of stamps collected would be used for gift redemption at the final session of the program. These pupils also participated in games, and shared inspiring stories of beautiful friendship and school violence prevention. These activities helped them understand and learn to build and nurture good friendships, solve friendship-related problems, and say no to school violence.

Over the years, Nui Phao Mining has served as a role model business with a significant contribution to social security works, especially in providing care and support for children. The Company has made continuous effort along the journey of sending love to children. Many physical and mental care activities have been carried out, specifically providing support for surgeries for children with congenital heart diseases, disseminating education, granting scholarship to nearly 200 HIV-infected children and children with special circumstances, and providing bicycles to poor and disadvantaged pupils in the locality.
