Masan High-Tech Materials donated VND 300 million to Thai Nguyen province’s COVID-19 prevention fund

Responding to the call for all people to unite and fight against Covid-19 from the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front in the peak period of Covid-19 prevention and control, on the morning of June 13, the Provincial Party Committee – People’s Council – People’s Committee – Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen province held a launching ceremony for peak donation to the COVID-19 prevention fund.

At the launching ceremony, Masan High-Tech Materials (MHT) donated VND300 million to the Thai Nguyen province’s Covid-19 prevention fund, contributing to increasing the total fund up to VND1 billion.

When the Covid-19 epidemic appeared in Vietnam at the end of 2019 and early 2020, MHT has proactively implemented preventive measures such as Establishing a Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control with the main function of operating the prevention and control of Covid-19; Establishing the “Covid-19 Rapid Response Team” to respond quickly to information and employees related to Covid-19; Establishing the “Covid-19 Safety Groups” according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health and the Thai Nguyen Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and control; Developing a “Response plan for Covid-19 scenarios at the Company” according to Decision No. 2194/QD-BCDQG, dated May 27, 2020 of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control at employee’s workplace and accommodation; Evaluating and continuously updating the assessment of the risk of Covid-19 infection at the workplace for employees to take timely action and solutions; Regularly checking, disseminating, raising awareness and helping employees prevent Covid-19 at work: Following ‘5K’ message, installing Bluezone app, practising social distancing, etc. Recently, the Company has carried out a PCR Covid-19 test for all employees and contractors working on site. A total ofs 1,820 people have been tested so far with all negative results.

At the same time, in order to improve efficiency and proactively handle possible adverse situations, on May 31, the Company held a drill to respond to scenarios having a Covid-19 case identified within the Company. The mock drill is to minimize the spread of Covid-19 contributing to zoning, contact tracing and stamping out the epidemic quickly and effectively. It also helps employees understand with further responsibilities for implementing measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.
