Over 100 women members of villages in the Dai Tu district recently enjoyed a special event – a training session on the efficient use of electricity and water. The program is part of a series organized to mark World Water Day and Earth Hour, as well as a special gift offered by the Nui Phao Mining to the women on International Women’s Day.

On the morning of March 8, Nui Phao Mining together with Women’s Union of Ha Thuong commune organized an awareness-raising campaign on the efficient use of electricity and water for 30 women members of the Union. At the same time, they introduced high-performance, energy-saving appliances that can be easily used in households to save electricity, gas, and water in daily activities, as well as the causes of energy waste and safety hazards around the house.

In particular, the session highlighted small gestures that could contribute significantly to efficient and economical consumption of electricity, including turning off electrical equipment when not in use, using natural sources of light, keeping rooms well-ventilated, etc.

Ms. Phung Thi Thanh, a Dong Bong resident in Ha Thuong commune shared her experience: “Thanks to the sharing session of Nui Phao Mining staff, we have become far more aware of how to use electricity in a safe, economical, and efficient manner. Now that we use electrical gadgets properly and turn them off when not in use, my family’s electrical costs have significantly decreased. For example, we chose to buy an energy-saving refrigerator with the right capacity for my family; we’ve stopped putting hot food in the refrigerator; we purchased an electric fan with appropriate capacity for each room size; and we only run the washing machine only when it’s fully loaded to maximize water and energy efficiency, etc.”

Ms. Bui Thi Hien, a Ham Rong resident in Hung Son town, said that after attending the session by Nui Phao Mining, she learned to use LEDs or compact fluorescent lamps instead of incandescent light bulbs; turn off unnecessary electrical equipment when not in use; not leave the rice cooker in cooking or warm modes for a long time, among other things. In addition, she also actively reminds others to use electricity safely, economically, and efficiently.

Earlier, on March 3, the company organized a sharing session for 70 women members of the Women’s Union in Ham Rong district, Hung Son town. Through these activities, Nui Phao has raised awareness among women union members for a better understanding of electrical safety and water saving. This reinforces the women’s role in building progressive and sustainable families, encouraging good habits and a healthier lifestyle for themselves and the community.
