Masan High-Tech Materials’ subsidiary, H.C. Starck GmbH, successfully completed the acquisition of Chemitas, a services provider in energy supply, waste management and logistics based in Goslar, Germany. This strategic move enhances manufacturing and delivery capabilities while aligning with Masan High-Tech Materials’ commitment to delivering comprehensive solutions to its customers in the global market.

“This is one of the big, bold decisions we have made in the context of challenging times for all businesses worldwide. The integration of Chemitas into the structures of H.C. Starck, we believe, will further improve the efficiency and quality of our services for all customers”, said Dr. Hady Seyeda, CEO of H.C. Starck GmbH cum. Deputy CEO of Masan High-Tech Materials. Just like countless other German companies, current developments especially in energy and raw materials prices are putting H.C. Starck under strong cost pressure. Therefore, the Company has to respond to this not only strategically, for example by opening up new target markets, but also structurally.

By incorporating Chemitas’ services in logistics, global transport management, facility management, wastewater management, fleet management and occupational safety, H.C. Starck can ensure streamlined operations and gain direct control over the entire manufacturing and delivery process, thus strengthening its position as a trusted strategic partner for customers across various industries.

“The acquisition of Chemitas aligns seamlessly with Masan High-Tech Materials’ development strategy. By gaining valuable insights into resource sharing and cost optimization, the Company shall improve its ability to deliver cost-effective solutions to customers”, Craig Bradshaw, CEO of Masan High-Tech Materials, shared.  “In the coming months, we will take our time to analyze all key aspects such as, processes and services in consultation with employee representatives to subsequently develop post-acquisition strategic plans”.

Chemitas continues to act independently, especially in relation to customers, serving their needs in optimal quality and at optimal cost while its management is looking forward to the upcoming challenges and further development that will accompany them with the integration commitment. The synergy effects of Chemitas’ integration into H.C. Starck Group, combined with the expertise and experience of H.C. Starck Tungsten and ChemiLytics, promise to broaden Masan High-Tech Materials’ market reach and further position Masan High-Tech Materials as a global leader in tungsten manufacture and supply.
